Chapter One
When the Dark Eldar first made contact with the Tau of Vior’la it seemed to be the beginning of a great time of cultural interaction and cooperation. The Tau were eager in their desire to learn more about the new visitors, as the leadership privately (if not publicly) started vetting them for possible inclusion into their empire.
After all, these mysterious new visitors arrived almost out of nowhere and assisted the Tau in hastily putting the end to an Ork raid on the planet.
The Dark Eldar leadership seemed eager to learn about the Vior’la as well. The leaders of both factions assembled a number of ambassadors of their own race to live with and learn from their new contacts. This act of good faith made it seem like only a matter of time before the new Dark Eldar visitors would join the mighty Tau Empire.
The Dark Eldar who were left to live with the Vior’la enjoyed almost a status of celebrity. Members of Tau society spared no expense to further indoctrinate them on the way of the greater good.
Unbeknownst to the Tau, however, the their contingent whom had boarded the vessels of the Dark Eldar were almost immediately butchered. This of course was the plan of the Dark Eldar the entire time, and the habitants of Vior’la were playing into their hands. It would only be a matter of time before their scout party of “ambassadors” could collect vital intelligence and return to the fleet.
Then all would be ready.
BATTLE 1: Snatch & Grab
The Dark Eldar ambassadors proved to be nothing more but spies imbedded into Tau society. As soon as they were able to gather what information they could in regard to the locations of key Tau figures they quickly escaped back to their coven.
Of course as soon as the Vior’la noticed the disappearance of their new friends they immediately became suspicious of their motives. They were not sure what to expect, if anything, but they quickly bolstered security just in case of some kind of attack. The Ethereals and other important members of society were encouraged to seek shelter and to remain guarded at all times.
The Dark Eldar, using the gathered intelligence to locate the Ethereals, set out to strike and if possible, capture them.
